Version 7.0 Release Notes.

New Features

• The Elements Repository now runs under Tomcat v6.
• The State Machine definition user interface now supports allowing transitions only if the user is in the appropriate ROLE.
• Trouble Ticket management classes and portals are now available that directly interface into the Help system.
• New Drag and Drop functionality allows you to drop a file from Windows explorer into a folder in eExplorer, or onto another Element that supports linking to an Artifact through a link class or SQL picklist.
• You may now Import from Google Earth KML files into the LOCATION table.
• Filter Count reduction and subsequent performance improvements. Parameterized replacements for autogenerated filters are now widely implemented, reducing the number of NAMED_TEXT entries that must be processed and reviewed at runtime.
• A non-SYS user can now be created with privileges sufficient to perform install and upgrade operations.
• It is now possible to see a report of detected differences between an incoming Class XMI definition file and the local schema. This is available in the Class Manager: File > Compare Schema / Class Definition menu option.
• eTask elements can now be exported in Microsoft Project XML format.
• Summary Chart Results can now be exported in Raw XML format.
• Sign on through DoD CAC Card Systems is now directly supported.

Portal Pages

New Filters / Reports

• New Filter: Unprocessed Lexicon Metrics: Show a gauge for number of entries remaining vs. total number of entries.
• New Filter: Inconsistent Filter Privileges (User List): Show the list of users that have issues with mismatches
• New Filter: Inconsistent Folder Privileges: Show folders with SELECT where the contents (filters and other folders) do not have SELECT etc.
• New Filter: SQL Picklist privilege mismatch when a user has insert on the class with a SQL Picklist, but does not have select on the filter the SQL Picklist uses.

Enhanced Filters / Reports

• Oracle Jobs Report: A red color swatch has been added to any row that shows a Broken Job.

Enhanced Portals

• The Class Detail Report has been restructured. There are now many tabs that closely match those available in the Class Manager application. The LAYOUT Tab is only visible to EE_ADMIN users.
• Each Attribute Detail Report has been restructured. Appropriate (previously autogenerated) filters are now located in each specific Attribute Detail Report. Hidden Attributes also behave in this consistent manner.
• Search Box consistency. All search boxes now have the same look and feel and behavior (a light-gray Search label inside the box)
• Portal Improvement, The Oracle Job portal now directly links to Job troubleshooting help documentation.
• Portal Improvement, The Oracle Analyze options are now directly available form the Analysis Summary Portal.
• Portal Improvement, User markup that describes the ANALYZE function has been added to the Analysis Summary Portal.
• History tab difference results contents have been updated to match the overall style template.
• The combo should only show statuses where the user is in the transition ROLE if no roles defined - the assume EE_USER. (prerequisite of transition ROLES being defined)
• Date Selectors/Editors now open to the previously set date when editing, as opposed to the current date.
• The Text Cloud tab will now only be presented in the Class Detail Report if that class has one or more String Attributes.

Elements Explorer

• The eExplorer Query by Example wizard now allows users to select Not Null and Distinct values when defining the query.
• SQL Editor now allows text Search. Press Ctrl+F to find some text
• SQL Editor now allows text Search and Replace - find next, replace all.
• Users are now allowed to enter new parameters. A new button with general param edit is now available.
• Keyboard entry now jumps to the first matching row in the current sort column.
• Keystrokes now jump to the matching Name in Detail list mode as they do in the Icon, List, and other modes.
• When Deleting many Elements, The Cancel option now changes the pointer to a hand, while hovering on the status bar. The Progress meter now shows more ganular progress, and properly resets Cancel Status if canceled.

Import / Export

• Export (Portal) Privilege parameters on user markup entries are now exported (and imported).
• Import (Portal) The -cf option to create filters even if target filter already exists is now implemented.
• Import (Portal) A new GUI to import Portal EE-XMI files is now available.

Class Manager

• A new top level tab is available called 'Advanced'. This tab now contains the 'Relationships', 'Indices', 'Synonyms', 'Procedures', and 'EDR' tabs.
• When creating an Index, the user may move the column up or down in list prior to index creation.
• A 'Where Used' indicator is now available when looking at list management section which shows Classes where this list is used.
• The State Machine ID is now shown in the panel otherwise it was not visible anywhere.
• Down Arrow from last list item now creates a new item unless the last item is already a new item.

Import / Export

• Class Export now includes synonym information as part of an EeSchema.
• Class Export now includes symbol information (>1000).
• Class Export now includes index definitions as part of EeSchema.
• Class Export now includes custom colors.

User Manager

• Button sizing has been improved on the Access Tab.
• The way in which users are assigned to the connection proxy has changed.

Link Manager

• Allow user to suppress Empty Rows. Do not show rows that contain zero links
• Allow user to suppress Empty Columns. Do not show columns that contain zero links

Elements Installer

• The pack selection screen should contain additional notice that you do not need to select all. for evaluators to not choose all UML and CWM for instance.
• The Installing user may now create the required INDX tablespace if it does not exist during Install.
• Extra options for CAC Proxy enablement are now provided.

Technical Updates

• Upgraded Chart Library to FusionChart 3.6
• The user aggregate function HTML_LIST has been extended to EE_HTML_LI_LIST and EE_HTML_BR_LIST.
• State Machine: A TRANSITION_ID column has been added.
• A Grant function is now available to simplify certain scripting efforts.
• User with privileges to run Class Manager now also have privileges to edit user PRE and POST procedures.
• A user PRE Delete procedure hook is now available.
• Restrict Privileges appropriately EE is the only user who should manipulate this table. EE_USER should get SELECT only
• A sample Java program to log in to Elements and run filters is now available. This can be implemented as a command line app or GUI, the purpose is to provide customers with an example of how to perform basic functions programmatically. The Java source code is available for distribution.
• A command line utility that obfuscates passwords is now available. A standalone jar file that can run from the command line. It accepts a password as input and uses string obfuscation code to obfuscate the output.
• Oracle 11 permission issues on the Filter "Database Info" references data that you can not see have been resolved.
• Users are now correctly prevented from changing Chart Display Parameters unless privileged. The user should have UPDATE privilege on the chart, or else should not be able to update the parameters.
• Display Parameters for related elements section do not respect the parent/child difference. Correct by adding a parent, or child indicator in the parameter name. EDR_CHILD_CLASS_RELATIONSHIP, or EDR_PARENT_CLASS_RELATIONSHIP. The parameter is a type 128, so the id must be the tuple id for the type 31 that defines the relationship. Also correct bug which disables the XFORM version of the parameter.
• There is now a new tag used to replace the related item section title.

Elements.Core Package

• Elements.Core package and contents are now available.
• Classes available include: Artifact, Organization, Person, Location, Language, and Unit of Measure

Bugs Fixed

• Bug Fix: Summary Chart z-order is incorrect with respect to Class Navigator popup
• Bug Fix: Summary Chart z-order is incorrect with respect to main menu chart overwrites main menu on portal pages
• Bug Fix: The Picklist combo should respect the ACTIVE setting do not show items in the combo that are not marked ACTIVE in the list_option table.
• Bug Fix: String to SQL Pick List Wizard creates redundant Class references in the "Select Foreign Key Attribute" screen When the String to SQL Pick List Wizard is invoked twice within the same Class, the Class referenced within the first invocation is placed a second time within the Class list upon the second invocation. • Bug Fix: Creating new option, and immediately ordering it causes error steps to reproduce: 1. go to an existing picklist 2. Insert a new option 3. type some text into the description 4. click the up arrow to move the option near to the top of the list notice the entered text does not move, the default text moves.
• Allow the list section to be wider than the combo for very long package names, they can be truncated.
