Version 7.1 Release Notes
New Features
- Elements License Information is now stored
in the database, it is no longer stored on the Web Server file
system. This change means that licenses are included directly in
disaster recovery backups.
- Externally authenticated users (CAC and
LDAP) are now shown a greeting page once per session prior to viewing
their home page.
- For systems with appropriate Oracle licenses, Elements
can now be dynamically exposed as Semantic Triples.
- A new Detail report for semantic 'Subjects' is available. You
can navigate through the triple-store using the new SDR Relationship section.
- A Semantically Assisted Search is now available.
- Filters can now contain SPARQL queries.

Enhanced Filters / Reports

Enhanced Portals
- Several new filters and portals have been
added to the Repository Administration main portal.
- The Database Management > Database
Runtime portal has been enhanced to provide much more performance
related content.
- A new subportal called My Repository now
groups many more subportals and filters related to the local
instance of the repository.
- A new subportal called Portal Management
is now available to contain Portal related filters and reports.
- The Task Management portal now contains
additional subportals with related content.
Elements Explorer
- The Folder Properties now contains a new tab called Hierarchy
that shows where the folder is used.
- An operating system file can now be dropped on any class that has an
Artifact as a target for a SQL Picklist. This should create the Artifact element,
and link it to the record.

Class Manager
- Any errors generated when defining an Element Label definition
will now be shown at save time in addition to runtime.

User Manager
- A friendlier alternative message is now provided for the
possible exception: 'ORA-01935: missing user or role name' during user account
approval when the user requested a login name that contains a period.
Link Manager
- The Link Manager now supports command line arguments that allow
the user to specify a starting class_id and 2 filters to use to populate the grid.
Elements Installer
Backup and Recovery (DR)
- Improved the error and warning messages that may occur
during Backup procedures.
Technical Updates
- HTML Form inputs are now filtered to
prevent Cross Site Scripting (XSS) attacks.
- Logging has been enhanced surrounding
Connection Pool creation, destruction, and reset.
- Exception messages have been enhanced when
a user fails to log in.
- The EE_CLASS_MANAGER role now has privilege
to set values in the STATE_MACHINE_TRANSITION_PRIVS table.
- Deletes are now cascaded to include type 90
parameters.
- The structure of Wizards has been modified to
remove the left hand status panel, and instead include the status
as a breadcrumb style header. This was done to maximize horizontal
space in the wizard itself.
- The method of calling DBMS JOBS has been changed to
minimize resulting SQL Parse requests.
- Many background SQL statements have been refined to
minimize resulting SQL Parse requests.
Elements.Core Package
Bugs Fixed
- The font size has been improved on the
Horizontal Thermometer Gauge when the browser only supports SVG 1.1.
- Cut and paste of Class Data tab records now
handles Tab and CR characters appropriately.
